Beds for Christ
In the fall of 2006, the Medford church Outreach ministry was advised, by a member of Taylor County Human Services, there wasn't a county program that could help families who needed beds for their kids. Thus, the creation of a community outreach to provide beds and bedding for children and eventually adults in our area--Beds for Christ. Because we were getting calls from residents in other counties, the Outreach ministry decided to only provide beds for residents within the City of Medford and Taylor County.
We could never had imagined the need that existed. Sleep apnea and other sleeping disorders, for children and adults, causes a series of health, school and work related probems. By this simple outreach, we are not only helping individuals but employers and our schools--resulting in better sleep, better health, better grades and better workers. We also support two local businesses.
Since December 2006, "Beds for Christ" gave a number of families in need:
3 cribs, 20 twin beds, 6 bunk beds, 11 full bed, 2 queen beds, 5 dressers and 1 toddler bed--all with bedding and pillows.
This is a very important ministry for our families in Taylor County. Call 715-748-2165 for the current brochure.
